Using Candles to Create Change

Posted in Gift Ideas, Spiritual at 4:07 am by Administrator

The next time you light a candle, put a little power behind it.  As you are about to light the candle, take a moment and state an intention.  Say a little prayer, ask for world peace, offer your blessing to someone who needs it or send light to people you know.

So often we use candles to celebrate– birthdays, holidays, religious rituals.  Sometimes we light them just for aesthetics and scent, but the act of lighting a candle can be a powerful one.  You can use candle lighting as your own private moment to bring energy to yourself or send it to others.  The flame of a candle reminds me of the “three-fold flame,” called upon for protection during meditation and other spiritual practices.  You can focus on the flame and ask for protection throughout your physical, mental and emotional bodies, or in other words, throughout all aspects of yourself.   You can also use candle lighting to honor someone– we use it on birthdays, right!  Perhaps there’s a friend or loved one who needs support, you can light your candle and ask that help is sent their way.   The act of lighting the candle can also be used to honor someone we have lost.

There’s many candles being made today for specific purposes.  Aromatherapy candles are really saturating the marketplace, but check the quality of your candle before buying.  Look for manufactures that use essential oils and lead-free wicks.  Rapunzel Gifts offers aromatherapy pillar candles and votives that are made right here in the U.S. with high quality ingredients.  Our collection www.rapunzelgifts.com/candle includes scents of lavender, sage, rosemary, peppermint, cinnamon, mandarin orange and more.  There’s also Herbal Magic Reiki Charged Affirmation candles that come with inspirational affirmations in essential oil scents matched to the intention, www.rapunzelgifts.com/cjhm.

For fun, check out the Gossip Stop and Come To Me candles.  These fun and powerful candles are what’s called Hoo Doo, urban magic for urban folk.  They come specially blended with instructions on how to use them.

So the next time you’re lighting candles for the table or home, remember to pause for just a moment.  Let that light into your heart and then send it back out to those who need it.

Creating Good Karma

Posted in Gift Ideas, Inspiration at 7:28 pm by Administrator

What is good karma?  Are those old sayings true; “What goes around, comes around,” “You only get back what you give.” “The energy you put out is what comes back to you.”  It’s a mystery how it all works, but somehow things always have a way of balancing out.  When we are victims of cruelty or insult, do we think “it will come back to him (her).”  Do we say to ourselves that our god or the universe will correct the situation?  So here’s a question, does that correction really happen or is it something to have to believe so we don’t become discouraged.  If we wish for the correction or balance does that mean we are wishing harm on others?

The Dalai Lama says in his teachings,  “We should avoid even the smallest negative actions, and we should perform even the most insignificant positive actions without underestimating their value. The reason for this is that the happiness we all want and the sufffering we all try to avoid are produced precisely by our actions, or karma.”  What are your thoughts on karma?  Have you had an experience in your life in which you believe karma was at play?

If you want to send some good karma to a friend or loved one check out our new Good Karma Gift Box http://www.rapunzelgifts.com/karma.html.  This fun-filled box contains a karma blessing kit, a karma violation ticket book and a parking fairy for the car, to help decrease road rage and increase parking karma.
